GSA Job Posting: Application Deadline February 18th

The GSA is currently hiring an Hourly Associate Editor to serve through the end of the current fiscal year (July 31, 2022).  The full description of the position is attached.  If you are interested in this posting, please email the required materials listed to the GSA Vice President, Jennifer Schechter, at gsa-vicepresident@buffalo.edu by Friday, February 18th in order to be considered.  Applicants must be currently enrolled graduate students who have paid their mandatory student activity fee and must be able to serve for the full term of the position.

 

GSA Officer Elections: Candidate Petition Packets Now Available!

Call for Candidates

On April 11 – 14, 2022 the following offices will be filled through a general election of graduate students at UB:

PRESIDENT
VICE PRESIDENT
TREASURER

The stipends for each of these positions is $20,000.  Elected officers must be present (on campus) and available to serve in the duties of their office from June 1, 2022 until May 31, 2023.

Any student enrolled in a department that is currently represented by GSA, who is in good academic standing, and attends the February 2nd  and March 2nd Board of Directors meetings shall be eligible to run for office.

*Please note that international students holding an assistantship or any other employment will be restricted by federal work regulations and may not be eligible to run for office under United States Law.*

Petition packets for candidacy are now available by email request and are due back to the Election Committee Co-Chairs by Friday, February 25, 2022 at 4:30pm.  Absolutely NO late submissions will be accepted.

All prospective candidates must attend a mandatory meeting with members of the Election Committee where the Election Rules and Regulations will be handed out and reviewed.  Meetings will be arranged between prospective candidates and the Election Committee to occur between Thursday, March 3, 2022 and Thursday, March 10, 2022.

GSA Winter Break Schedule

The GSA Winter Break Schedule will be as follows:

  • GSA open through Monday, December 13th
  • GSA closed Tuesday, December 14th until Monday, January 3rd
  • GSA on Summer Hours Monday, January 3rd – Friday, January 28th
    • Open Monday – Thursday 8:30am – 4:00pm, closed on Fridays
  • GSA closed Monday, January 17th for MLK Jr. Day (University Closed)
  • Regular Business Hours resume Monday, January 31st with the start of the Spring semester

Free UB Tickets to Graduate Students over Winter Break

The Division of Athletics would like to make a limited number of complimentary tickets available for graduate students to attend UB Basketball games over the winter break.

Each graduate student can request 2 tickets to each game while supplies last.

Complete and submit form and the UB Bulls ticket office will text your tickets to your smartphone.  When you arrive at the Arena on game day, simply show the ticket on your phone to enter.  (Please be aware that we are adhering to all government and campus covid guidelines. You will need to show proof of vaccination and wear a mask to enter the event)

Deadline to request tickets is Monday, January 17th.
