“The Student Assembly stands strongly in support of the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program. Since June 2012, DACA has given countless students the ability to live and study in the United States. As the elected student representatives of SUNY students, we stand firmly in our commitment to making SUNY a safe, welcoming, and inclusive environment for all of our students to live and learn.

“We, as leaders, also have the responsibility to stand up and speak out for what we know is right. We are unwavering in our conviction that extending DACA is in the best interest of our communities, the State University of New York, and our peer institutions across the nation.”
