As an oral historian, I have had the great privilege of interviewing over 200 World War II veterans. In my dissertation, “They May Still Be Suffering”: World War II Veterans, Postwar Life and American Manhood, 1945-1950, I delve into veterans’ stories of readjustment to civilian life. Prior to graduate school I served as the Assistant Director of Research at The National World War II Museum in New Orleans, LA, and public history remains close to my heart. Through my work I strive to combine the rigor of academia with the accessibility of public history.
