I am originally from Hiroshima, Japan. I entered an MA program in Public History at the University Massachusetts Amherst after becoming interested in the history of state hospitals in the United States. During my master’s, I specialized in the history of the Psychiatric Survivors Movement as well as the Disability Rights Movement by processing the papers for a Boston based activist, Judi Chamberlin, at the UMass Special Collections and University Archives. At the University at Buffalo, I hope to continue my research into these subjects.
